Techinical issues...

If you have tried to access RW in the last hour or so you may have noticed we are having some technical issues.

Working on it while I type, and the good news is that the server was able to recover from a crash to a state that remote access was available. This is important because it means our fault protection appears to be working allowing for remote recovery from issues.

Hoping to have everything back and working with in the hour.

Update: Site recovery went fine, but rerunning back up since it got jacked up, so looking at another 20 minutes or so till the site is fully accessible again.

UPDATE: Okay site should be back up and running as normal. Its well past my bedtime.....have to teach tomorrow morning. OH well. Leave a message on my talk page or on here if you have problems with the site or you can contact Nx as he should be able to handle anything. He is still here right?

  1. This site has ground to a halt. What's up with that? Backup has pretended to stop running.

  2. As I said in the post, there was a crash, the server recovered, but some things had to be fixed manually before it could work.

Backup is running now and then the site will be available again.

  5. You asked for us to let you know if we were having trouble getting pages to load. I'm having the issue right now (18:54 GMT, 1st December). It's connecting (at least the favicon and the proper URL pops up in the bar) and then goes quite slow. Hence commenting here rather than on the conversation you pointed to.

RWW, however, is working okay. Sluggishly, but it's still loading. Good luck figuring this one out!

  9. It would be great to start a new entry on this blog for discussion until RW gets over the Colbert bump.

Also, could you delay the DB backup tonight, so RW stays more responsive until end of bump?
